I dare someone to comment!
I try to post interesting info and such, but alas it’s not very pleasurable to do when nobody seems to ever add their 2¢’s. not that my entries are that fascinating to the masses, but you’d think that with even the minuscule average of sixty unique visitors per day you’d think that one person would relate, right??? Oh well, I could I suppose write about other stuff more, my dreams would make for an interesting read, or what my wife says that I do or say while sleeping. Apparently I’m pretty amusing, lol.

Birthday Approaches…
Well, it’s right around the corner, I will no longer be able to be trusted. That’s what I recall my mother telling me when I was young, never trust anybody over the age of thirty. But why? Why trust anyone under that age for that matter? I don’t know anymore. Lately I’ve been getting into that birthday funk though, it’s not very fun and it’s been wearing me out. It seems that most years I feel this way around my birthday, maybe I have SAD or maybe I’m just CRAZY? Wait, am I crazy? I have often wondered this while I lay in bed staring at the ceiling, my wife lately has grown to dislike this part of me but it’s oddly calming to me. I feel at ease and relaxed, I am guessing it’s because these feelings of late have been breaking me down and causing me to sputter out, knock and ping like so much poor octane. Whatever it is I wish it was over, I look forward to March and February isn’t even here yet?! I sometimes which I could skip February because it’s my birth month, but that wouldn’t really do much but prevent me from numerically reaching life milestones, hope there’s not another kidney stone right around the corner. At any rate, I have a ceiling to stare at for a few minutes so later people.

Cold Snap
It’s sort of a cold snap this time of the year, kids are bundled out by the bus stop as I make my trek to work in the icebox Toyota, smoking a camel and I find it hard to tell which is smoke and which is my breath from within’ the car. Not that I didn’t anticipate this happening, it is January in Saint Louis, for a while there we had witnessed June in January so I think everyone here knew this day would come…

Masters in Reverse Engineering
I found out long ago that in life to achieve a goal, visualize the finish line and backtrack to how you could have gotten there. Then move forward and attack! I recently saw leadership at my work move in the same manor for our 2007 Strategy meeting, pretty much a “Where are we wanting to be, how will we get there by years end” things. Looks as if my teams responsibilities will be greater so of course our individual concerns focused on time matters and compensation, these are an important component of why we work. Most people work because they need to pay bills, eat, etc and I am certainly not different. It helps that I enjoy my team I work with and the job is not that bad. But at the end of the day, no matter how good a time you can have at work it comes down to the paycheck. I also have quite a bit of freelance work hitting my desk lately, this will be helpful for increasing my bank account once all is said and done. Now to figure out just how much of it is worth my time and how much of it I’d put into my portfolio1. It’s a constant struggle to find time and energy to get everything done sometimes.
1 Man, somebody needs to get on me about getting some of my sites up for the portfolio…

Starting the Shape-Up
Okay, so the new year is underway and it’s time for me to weigh in. I’m going to start back on this thing lightly as I’ve neglected my workouts for several months. Going to get back onto the Swiss Ball, do more walking and a bit of cardio, maybe some beginners Yoga mixed in there for good measure. I need to kick my butt into gear if I’m going to hit my goals (of which I’ve set so many of)…

Wirefly.com
The following is a paid review for Wirefly.com
As a seasoned consumer I am not a stranger to price shopping. Whether it’s for deals on computer hardware, the best deals on a vacation or cellular service, I want to find out that I’m getting the best deal possible. And my first stop is on the internet back and forth from site to site! What a pain that can be sometimes, it’s rather time consuming and as you know time is money. With Wirefly I can feed my local information into the site and they’ll run down a list of cellular providers and show me their best deals. This is very handy for the person “on the go” as I so often resemble. So I pop in my zip code, click submit, then sit back and review all of the plans available to me. To take it a few steps further I decided to check out one of the providers, I am currently still in contract but if the deal was enticing enough for me to switch maybe I would. Not only did I find a few pretty good deals with some of the competition, but I could also get a good deal on a wireless broadband card as well. So if someone would buy me a new Powerbook maybe? So what’s my opinion? I like to generally make my final deal in person, but I would jump on some of these deals in a heartbeat if I didn’t have that early termination fee to worry about.
